A fairytale AJ page for Stampotique challenge SDC137 (Textured Backgrounds) / Une page d'AJ de 'Conte de fées'... en Stampotique

Bonjour ! Helloooo !

Non, non vous ne rêvez pas, j'ai décidé de participer de nouveau à un challenge du blog Stampotique Originals, j'ai craqué ahah!! Je me suis fait plaisir avec une petite page d'AJ dans un monde imaginaire, que j'ai fait aussi pour faire plaisir à la personne qui anime le challenge de cette semaine sur le blog Stampotique Designers, un challenge où il faut mettre de la TEXTURE SUR SON FOND... C'est mon amie américaine Kay Wallace qui fait partie de la DT a suggéré ce thème, et c'est son tout premier challenge, donc ça m'a fair réellement plaisir de la suivre, d'autant que moi, la texture sur mes réas, j'adore !!! En général je me sers de mes masks et de ma Grunge Paste Paper Artsy quand je suis pressée, ou simplement de Gesso quand je le suis moins... Pour info, les pates que vous pouvez trouver chez Lidl (fine ou épaisse) font très bien l'affaire également. :) Sur cette réa, j'ai choisi de mettre de créer de la texture avec à la fois du Gesso et du gel Multi-Medium (Matte de chez Claudine Hellmuth), ça marche aussi ! Ce sont mes feuilles retombantes en arrière fond un peu transparentes qui sont faites de cette manière, j'en ai recouverts certaines d'un peu de peinture..

Je vous laisse en compagnie de 'Moth Fab'... et de ses petits copains de la forêt, 'Acro-Cat' et 'Catepillar'.. Je les adore ces trois là. En principe, Moth Fab a une petite robe courte, mais là pour rire un peu je l'ai transformée en princesse de conte de fées, donc la robe longue découpée dans une chute de papier imprimé s'imposait..! J'y ai aussi rajouté un peu de texture pour le fun, en utilisant une petite partie de fleurs de mon mask Dylusions 'Dotted Flowers'. Mes fleurs sur la droite sont aussi réalisées avec ce mask.. Tous mes autres feuillages sont faits à l'aide de mon nouveau mask Tando Creative 'Long Flourish', il est vraiment super beau je trouve !!!

Mon fond est fait en Panpastels, j'y ai rajouté quelques touches de peinture acrylique ici et là et un peu de Gilding wax metallique...

Catepillar est perché sur 'Mushroom Forest', et le livre ouvert s'appelle 'Once Upon the Time'.. Voilà pour l'essentiel de cette page, je ne décris pas toutes les étapes ni tous les produits que j'ai utilisé par manque de temps, mais il y a quand même beaucoup de travail sur ce type de page, principalement parceque c'est un travail par couches de couleurs successives et petits détails ajoutés ici et là.. Cela dit, c'est vraiment sympa à faire, surtout quand on s'amuse à imaginer et créer une petite scène de ce genre au fur et à mesure, je vous encourage à essayer !

No, no, you don't dream, I chose to enter again into a Stampotique challenge using my Stampotique stamps... I couldn't resist any longer haha!! My friend Kay Wallace is hosting the new week's challenge for the first time at the Stampotique Designers challenge blog and she's a very lovely and supportive person of my blog, I sincerly appreciate her much, so I was thrilled to play with her challenge and thank her by the same way... Her challenge is about TEXTURED BACKGROUNDS. Here are her words: "I am thrilled to be posting the challenge today!  That said, it is going to be a challenge with a bit of a twist. This challenge is all about using texture in the background of your artful projects.  But, here’s the twist:  I am not challenging you to create a texture like mine, but challenging you to share with the rest of us through your art your “signature” or “go to” techniques for creating that texture in your backgrounds.  For example, Design Team member Coby van Willigenburg has the ability to create amazing texture in a background by using Yupo (synthetic) paper and alcohol inks, yet her background remains as flat as a pancake!! On the other hand, Design Team member Magda Polakow will create a textured background by building up many layers, yet it remains in the background and never overpowers her focal images. So, share with us what YOU do to create that physical texture or just the appearance of it! Above all, have fun!" 

It was a very pleasant challenge for me as I love adding texture using my modelling pastes and my stencils!!! I use my Grunge Paste from Paper Artsy when I'm in a hurry, otherwise Gesso is enough good for that... On this piece, I created texture thanks to a small palette knife with both Gesso and Multi-Medium Matte from Claudine Hellmuth (following the technique Sarinda gave on the blog some time ago). I applied the medium on my falling leaves in the background, you can see they remain clear although I covered partly some of them with a bit of paints..

I leave you in the company of 'Moth Fab'... and her fellows in the forest: 'Acro-Cat' et 'Catepillar'.. I love these three stamps! Usually, Moth Fab wears a short dress, but here for fun I imagined her as a fairytale princess... so she needed a long dress of course! I cut it into a scrap of patterned paper... also added extra texture over it for fun again, using a small part of my 'Dotted Flowers' mask by Dylusions. My flowers on the right side are also made with this stencil. All my other textured leaves are created through my new Tando Creative mask 'Long Flourish', this one is so BEAUTIFUL, look at all the leaves they are really fabulous !!!

My background is made using various Panpastels, I just added a few drops of acrylic paint here and there and a bit of metallic Gilding wax...

Catepillar is perched on top of 'Mushroom Forest', and the open book is called 'Once Upon the Time'.. here are the main technical details for this page, I will not provide all the steps and materials by lack of time. There is a lot of stuff and work on such layered and textured piece... But I've had a lot of fun to imagine the scene, so it's well worth the time, I really encourage you to try if you like !

The stamped text is by Dylusions, from a collection of quotes by Dyan Reaveley. I just added by hand the text "I'm a fair Princess!". 

Pour ajouter encore plus de texture, j'ai pris une simple règle que j'ai passé (légèrement hein, attention!) dans une goutte de peinture marron.. et je l'ai appliquée en la faisant glisser légèrement de haut en bas ou de gauche à droite.. toutes mes croisillons et touches de marron sont faites de la même manière, avec le bout de ma règle. Voilà pour les détails techniques, je vous laisse en compagnie de mes petits copains de la forêt, j'espère que vous passez un bon dimanche, je file jardiner un peu il fait super beau !!

To add even more texture, I took a simple rule and pressed it slightly into a drop of brown paint... I then applied the tip of it from left to right or from top to bottom on my background.. All the crossed lines and brown shades here and there are done in the same way, using this simple technique.
