Chocolate Baroque Challenge Six

Some time ago I won a purchase voucher from the Chocolate Baroque. I bought new stamps from the shop, and with the ones I had already, this makes a lovely set of CB stamps! Now there was an opportunity to take advantage of several of these rubber stamps... One of my good resolutions this year is to play more with my stuff and all the stamps I own and love - many of them never inked yet to my great shame! - before buying new ones again and again, or new supplies.. also play sometimes along the challenge blogs for brands from which I won some gift vouchers in order to express my gratitude. So this is my entry for the Chocolate Baroque challenge Six this month over at the Chocolate Baroque Challenge Blog. This is a colour challenge, inspired by a beautiful artwork by Shirley. To make a change with all my Season's greetings cards, I have decided to come back to my original love of Tags.

J'ai plusieurs séries de cartes de voeux à vous montrer dans les jours qui viennent, j'espère en trouver le temps. Mais avant, voici un grand tag monté sur carton épais fait avec des tampons Chocolate Baroque. Je me suis vraiment régalée avec ce tag, je l'adore... Une fois n'est pas coutume, j'ai opté pour d'autres tampons que ceux de mes DTs ou mes Stampotique, car j'aime aussi beaucoup ces tampons, ils sont magnifiques et je ne m'en sers pas assez!! ça fait d'ailleurs partie de mes bonnes résolutions de l'année, jouer ou redécouvrir tout mon matériel avant de craquer sur les dernières nouveautés, et notamment tous mes tampons que j'aime, certains m'ayant été offerts et encore jamais encrés à ma grande honte..  En plus j'ai gagné récemment un bon d'achat dans la boutique CB, et j'ai craqué pour compléter mes tampons de la marque.. Je vous encourage à les découvrir, ils sont beaux! 

Voilà mon tag qui répond au 6ème challenge en cours sur le blog Chocolate Baroque Challenge Blog. Il fallait respecter un combo de couleurs...  inspiré par une superbe création de Shirley.

 Et comme la lumière n'était pas très bonne quand j'ai pris mes photos, je vous montre aussi mon tag sous le soleil.. J'ai eu du mal à choisir la meilleure prise pour le rendu des couleurs réelles!

The weather was not good when I took my photographs, it's hard to show the real colours and shine on this tag.. Here's another picture taken with sun, but not perfect either!!

This tag started with a mop-up background Manila tag done for ages using some inks and a few masks... I stamped the beautiful peacock from my Peacock Parade stamps set onto a piece of watercolour paper, as well as the lovely flowers from May Fairy and a little butterfly, heat embossed them quickly (I used Neutral Ultra Shimmer Wow powder) and fussy cut them out. I colored them with my Derwent Inktense pencils with a water brush detailer to make the colours pop, and at the end applied two coats of Clear Gloss embossing powder on the separate elements, the shimmer remains behind as the powders melt together..

Using a stamp positioner and Coffee Archival ink, I stamped directly onto my background an image of the peacock to get the detailed feathers and small branches, then added the little bird and butterfly from the April Fairy stamp to complete the scene. The bunch of three painted leaves are some leftover from a past project. I also used some leftovers of cream lace inked here to fit the colours I chose at the bottom, and some reverse die-cut from a Sizzix decorative grass strip die onto which I stamped a border of feathers also embossed using Wow shimmer powder. I finally glued everything in place. At the end I found my tag so lovely that I decided to cut a piece of thick greyboard to mount the tag on this latter to create a little board :) 

Since I have used old mop-up background and leftovers to make my tag, and at the same time be thrilled to ink for the first time these gorgeous CB stamps, I also enter this tag into the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge: 'Make new friends but keep the old..'. 

and finally I'm also entering it into the Craft Stamper 'Take a Stamp' challenge, this is my second entry to this challenge this month! 

Mon tag est fait à partir d'un fond de grand tag Manila sur lequel j'avais essuyé des restes d'encres avec l'aide d'un ou de deux masks.. J'ai tamponné sur papier aquarelle mon paon et les deux fleurs magnifiques que j'ai colorisé en rose et mauve (aux crayons Derwent Inktense). Ils sont aussi embossés à chaud avec de la poudre Wow 'Neutral Shimmer' (je l'adore celle-ci, elle donne des reflets magnifiques!!). Je les ai détourés, et pour finir recouverts de 2 couches de Clear Gloss, j'aime bien l'aspect final brillant et pailleté de mon paon et l'épaisseur est un peu moindre qu'avec de l'UTEE.  

 J'ai aussi tamponné le petit oiseau, le papillon et mon paon directement en place avant de placer et coller tous mes éléments, en rajoutant quelques rubans et un bout de dentelle encrée à la distress dans le bas.
