Wanderlust.... 2ème semaine / Week 2

Coucou! Hi everyone!

Je vous montre enfin la suite de mes aventures "Wanderlust" !... Il s'agit des cours en ligne hebdomadaires que j'ai décidé de suivre cette année. J'ai craqué car beaucoup d'artistes connus y participent et partagent leur travail sous forme de vidéos et autres documents au sein d'une communauté très active, il y a aussi des cours informatifs sur les produits qu'on utilise, bref, le programme était vraiment très alléchant. 

Je ne regrette pas, même si je ne suis pas une très bonne élève puisque par manque de temps, je n'en suis encore qu'à la semaine 2 (au lieu de la semaine 15!). Du coup hier j'ai pris la résolution d'être un peu plus assidue... Hier j'ai réussi à créer assez vite une nouvelle page suite au 'prompt' (une consigne pour nous inspirer) de la semaine 15 justement, je vous montrerai plus tard. Aujourd'hui c'est ma version de l'album de voyage en accordéon proposé par l'artiste Kate Crane dans une série de vidéos que je partage avec vous!

I am behind my Wanderlust course... I have been so busy these last weeks with the projects for my classes. But it is such a joy to dip in a video tutorial from time to time! The videos are really great. Here's my take on Kate Crane's accordion album for Wanderlust Week two...  Doing this very late since we are now in Week 15, and I've only managed to finish the second week Mmm. Well, never mind, it's okay for me as long as everything new and any unknow technique learned is good for me, whatever the time needed, I can keep the rest for later. 

So today I'm sharing some pictures of the nature album I created in response to Kate Crane's travel journal tutorial in the second week of the course. Well, there are quite a lot of photos, maybe better to have a little cuppa near you! :) 

La structure et tous mes fonds sont réalisés à la main, selon les techniques qu'elle préconise, et que je ne peux pas partager avec vous ici par respect pour son travail, j'espère que vous le comprendrez. 

I loved the construction of the journal, and I think I rose to the challenge of doing at least some of my own mark-making... Somes inner pages are still missing, but I will add them later certainly, this was so much fun! Obviously, I don't want to give away Kate's secrets, so in this post I'm just making my way through the pages finished of the album, sharing some close-ups as we go. 

 

Pour décorer mon mini-album, j'ai opté pour mes tampons Stampotique Originals, en honneur à Kate Crane qui dessine à présent des tampons pour cette marque américaine. Et ils vont si bien avec ces couleurs pétantes !!! ^^

I chose the theme of nature to decorate the inside... following Stampotique Arwen's challenge. Playing with plenty of my Stampotique Originals stamps on this theme, in honor also to Kate Crane who designs now for this brand of wooden stamps too, though I did not use any of their stamps to both of the ladies.. But it has been a pleasure to use these ones only cos I still love them. Moreover they are perfect with these vivid colours, aren't they? ^^

Il y a une petite pochette dans l'une des pages intérieures, qui permet de glisser ce qu'on veut.. J'y ai mis pour l'instant mes restes de fleurs et tamponnades qui serviront à décorer les pages manquantes, que je compte bien finir !! 

There's a pocket built in to the whole thing too, so there are some stamped flowers tucked in there, ready to be used on the remaining inner pages I will certainly add later.

 Sur cette page, j'ai joué avec ce gros tampon de fleur que je m'étais amusée à créer lors d'un week-end de patouille génial à Poitiers organisé par les charmantes Dominike et Tit'Belsoeur, il y a un an ou deux... un peu grossier me direz-vous ! Mais je l'aime bien ainsi, je le trouve original dans sa forme !

 

 This is my own hand carved stamp... not very well done, but I love it!

The Giant shroom designed by Jo Capper-Sandon that you can see here, Birch Tree and Carol's small flower, both designed by Janet Klein, remain among my fave Stampotique stamps forever. Also the lovely leaves drawed by Maryse Carrier...

 Je vous montre aussi la couverture du devant, elle est toute simple mais je l'aime beaucoup dans sa simplicité... je pense la laisser comme ça, je la vernirai probablement. 

Here's the top cover, simple but beautiful... I just leave it like that, I will just add some varnish to protect it.  

 Je partage aussi quelques photos des étapes de réalisation, et de ce qui m'a inspirée pour réaliser ce projet ...

Voici les deux pages réalisées en préliminaire à l'album accordéon, suivant les conseils et la vidéo de Kate Crane. J'ai adoré expérimenter sa technique de doodlings et toutes ses astuces pour créer de beaux fonds de page !!! Je proposerai certainement plus tard un projet d'atelier similaire s'ils y a des amateurs ! 

 I must say that I have had an absolutely wonderful time creating these pages too full of doodlings, colours, experimentation and pleasure, thank you very much Kate Crane!

- Stampotique challenge SDC239: Nature. Challenge proposé par Arwen, sur le thème de la nature... Mais sans hommes ni animaux! 

This week Arwen has chosen the challenge at Stampotique, and she has chosen nature. So no animals or humans allowed. I love nature but this really has been a challenge to not add at least a little butterfly! But thank you Arwen, it was a very lovely idea and challenge!

- Anything But Cute: Challenge #12 - April - Earth Day. I was very inspired by the beautiful blue-green colours and flowers on the wonderful mood board proposed by Samra... Thinking immediately that it was a perfect complement to fill my nature album project! I followed the moon board inspired by the beauty of our planet to create all my flowers, tree, mushroom and every tiny nature embellishment fussy cut out! 

Moreover, I didn't know that, but April 22nd is celebrated as Earth Day... April 23rd is my birthday LOL so I even more enjoyed taking part in the celebration! :)

- Our Creative Corner: Gypsy Fayre. I took as many colours as I could from the Gypsy Palette! 

- Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge: Try to Resist. There are many resist effects in this album! Done mainly using Gesso, other paints, and scratches into some previous layers of paint...

Voilà, j'espère que ce post printanier vous aura plu... En tout cas j'ai beaucoup aimé travailler sur ce projet Wanderlust et finaliser ce joli mini-album avec mes tampons Stampotique pour une fois.

Egalement un bon salon à toutes celles d'entre vous qui se trouvent à Paris pour Version Scrap où je n'ai pu aller cette année, j'espère une autre année pour voir ou revoir mes chères copinettes... Mais ici on attend les petits cousins pour la semaine de vacances à venir avec impatience... et on fête aussi l'anniversaire de ma grande, elle a 17 ans aujourd'hui ! Bisousssss

Sadly, I am not going to Version Scrap this year... I hope the next year! But we are waiting for the little cousins from Ardêche to arrive today, they will stay one week at home, and that's great too! Moreover this is also the day of my eldest daughter Charlotte, she's 17 today! So even better for me to stay me think. Time goes by so fast! xxx
